Time to confess…

Okay, here it is. I have a confession. I’m a recipe junkie. I collect recipes anywhere I can get them. Online and from Cookbooks. Recipes from cereal boxes, pasta boxes, the newspaper. Really anything that has a recipe on it will end up somewhere in my cooking stuff. I have 1115 recipes currently in my email and those are the ones I haven’t even opened. I’ve just sent them to myself or gotten on mailing lists that send me recipes. I have more recipes then I’ll ever be able to cook. But I can’t stop clicking, tearing, downloading, printing and hoarding recipes. Is there a 12 step program for that? Do I even want to go to recipe rehab? Nope. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has this little secret. If I were, there would be no more reason to keep writing cookbooks.

I blame the Food Network & the Food Channel and all the other channels that I watch food shows on. Because after I watch a show I go look up the recipes. In fact I have the urge to look up different recipes for pickled green strawberries. All because I saw it on a baking competition show I watched the other night and it intrigued me. I had never heard of pickling green strawberries. I mean I don’t think I would even have picked them if they were green, but regardless now I want to find out how many recipes for it there are out there. If a person were to go through the Saved Section on my Facebook or my email folders they would see I have a serious addiction to chocolate, bread, cake, perfecting the chocolate chip cookie and pulled pork. Weird I know.

And since I brought it up, I think I have at least 50 different recipes for chocolate chip cookies. I’m not sure what I’m looking for, I just know I haven’t found it yet. Don’t get me wrong, I have found some pretty amazing cookie recipes, but just not the perfect one yet. So I keep looking and trying different things. Some day maybe I will find my perfect recipe and someday maybe I won’t. But I will have fun searching through all the recipes I can click. ♥
