My husband and I had a quiet weekend and I took an extra day off because I was having a Sleep Study…seems I snore a bit. If you asked my big sister, who had to share a room with me last year at our baby brother’s Surprise 40th Birthday Weekend, I snore so loudly and so much that multiple floors at the hotel could hear me 🙂 Love you Tricia! But back to the Sleep Study I went in Monday night and then had Tuesday off and was going to make the Church Window cookies but I was really tired. Seems you don’t sleep well with a weird mask on your face and hooked up to wires.
After my post, Dinner with Dad, my Dad and my almost Mom, Gayle let me know that they had my Aunt Alice’s recipe for the cookies. I was so excited! I printed the recipe off on Friday and I picked up the ingredients to make them over the weekend. I never got to it. I then decided well I’ll make them on Tuesday and take pictures to share but after the Sleep Study I was so tired. The ingredients are still sitting on the counter, staring at me every time I come into the kitchen. It’s almost as though they keep asking, “Jennifer, why haven’t you used us yet?” and I keep shaking my head because, really a bag of multi-colored mini marshmallows shouldn’t talk to anyone.
Now that I have the recipe I can see how easy those cookies are to make. It’s really only margarine, chocolate chips, coconut and the aforementioned mini marshmallows. Simple right? Let’s hope so. I don’t want to destroy a cherished child hood memory. If you want to get the ingredients yourself and play along I will post the recipe tomorrow. You need fun mallows and chocolate chips, shredded coconut and finally margarine of your choice.
Make sure to leave them on the counter so that they can stare quietly at you too until you use them. ♥
I am loving your blog Jenn, keep it up!! I so look forward to it. By the way, I have Grama Shead’s recipe for Church Windows too, she wrote it out for Rachel, I just need to find it. I’ll look this weekend, I’m sure it’s probably the same ingredients.
