The Brownie Bet

I lost a bet to my Sister in law, Donna, during the NCAA Final Four this past March. I was rooting for my Michigan State Spartans and she was rooting for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. If you follow college basketball you know that MSU lost to Texas Tech in the first game of the final four. Before the game started, Donna texted me and wanted to know if I wanted to make a bet and well of course I did!!! MSU had been dominating through out the tourney and I’m a die hard Izzo fan so I didn’t hesitate. We set terms and then watched the game. Needless to say I lost. The final bet was brownies to the winner. I of course lost so I had to make brownies. Granted that was about 4 or 5 weeks ago and she has been patient and her patience is going to be rewarded this weekend because I finally made the brownies. Except I’m always a little extra and I didn’t want to make just brownies, I wanted to make Brookies. (I’m gonna just leave that there for a minute while you wrap your mind around what that might be…)

Soooo Brookies are brownies and cookies. Together. Like some weird combo from heaven 🙂 I chose to make peanut butter cookies with m-n-m’s on the bottom layer and brownies on the top. The plan was awesome and going according to the recipe I had looked up and then of course tweaked a bit because I just can’t help myself, but then I got caught up in something and forgot to make the layers the way I was supposed to and my Brookies became just chocolate peanut butter m-n-m brownies. Not as awesome as I had intended but they passed the husband taste test and will be wrapped after cooling completely and sent lovingly to Texas where Donna can share them or not.♥♥♥
