I read a lot. I mean A LOT. I always remember having a book with me when I was growing up and before I went to Culinary School I was going to school to get a degree in Library Sciences. Even now I carry my kindle with me where ever I go. Goodreads is a website that will keep track of how many books you’ve read and will even “shelve” books that you want to read. I find that kind of funny as one of my first jobs in high-school was working at a library where I really did have to shelve books. But that isn’t what I wanted to write about, so back to Goodreads. Besides having those shelves they run a reading challenge where you pledge how many books you think you can read in a year. I thought I would challenge myself a little and decided to pledge that I could read 500 books. I was on the site the other day and checking in on my progress and according to Goodreads I’ve read a 121 books so far this year. 121 books. I thought was a ton but it tells me I’m 21% behind my goal. Then I thought about it for a while and there is absolutely no way I’m going to read 379 books yet this year and I can’t tell you how much that bummed me out. I guess I didn’t give it as much thought as I should have in January. I know I read way more than I a lot of people I know and that 121 books in a 5 months is a great accomplishment and there shouldn’t be a but to that sentence but I wish I could go back and start over and maybe only challenge myself to 350 books. Regardless I’ll continue to read as much as I can and maybe by the end of the year I’ll be closer then I thought.♥♥♥
Far more than I read in 5 months, you accomplish a lot!
