NOTE: I started this post in late August. How fast the last 5 months have gone.♥
It was a long and busy summer. I didn’t get a chance to post much as I was wrapped up in work and the long, warm days like everyone else. But as the days become shorter every day, the mornings and evenings are cooler and as I sit here watching college football with my husband I can’t help but reflect on the last few months and what the next few might hold. I work at a very busy Heating and Cooling company and it just felt like the summer flew by, with all the A/C calls, installations and new construction. It struck me this morning that I’m now getting more sales calls for Furnaces then Air Conditioners. It’s funny how quickly the season changes, almost with a snap of the fingers. It seems like just yesterday my husband and I were trying to decide what to do with our lazy weekends, should we go to a baseball game or take a trip out of town to follow the cooler breezes, should he golf or go fishing. Now our weekends will be filled with Football games and the Fall always seems to fly by. I am thinking ahead to the birth of my first grand-baby when this time last year I was preparing for my son to come for a visit. This fall I will be visiting him. I both want the days to speed up and at the same time slow down so I can enjoy the fall but also so the baby can get here. Walks in the evening will be nicer as the cool breeze from the river cools the air and the mountains take on a slightly different hue. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still warm right now, in fact it’s supposed to be in the 90’s for the Labor Day weekend but looking ahead to the 10 day forecast it seems like it’s a last push of heat. By this time next week the high is only supposed to be around 78 degrees. Which is warm but it takes until the late afternoon for that to happen. I didn’t take any vacation this summer at all because I wanted to save my PTO to travel back east when Jen and Gabe’s daughter arrives and it’s taken a toll on me emotionally. I’m not sorry that it’s Labor Day weekend, 3 days off seems like heaven.
Update: January 22, 2019
And in just a snap of the fingers, the post I started in August is almost as relevant in January as exciting things are again around the corner. I did take my vacation to meet my glorious and beautiful baby grand-daughter. I’ve become a Lolly and I adore it. It wasn’t a trip with out its issues. Gabe and I also seem to butt heads at least once a year and it seemed this was the time. Things got worked out and I would do the whole trip again, even with the angry words and over-tried emotions. That is what being a parent is after all. The ability to love each other no matter what. The time from my trip in October to now was also the blink of an eye and here I am preparing for another amazing trip to Virginia this time with my husband. We are going to be a part of celebrating the marriage of my very loved son to his beautiful and generous partner. Work is still incredibly busy, we are growing in so many different ways. I see big things for the company and for now enjoy being a part of it and as for that I will just leave that statement there. I video chat with my sweet little Eliza and her Mommy almost every night and enjoy being a part of their day. I love it when Gabe is home too because then I get to see how much his little girl adores her Daddy. Denny and I enjoyed a great Griz football season and cheered our team onto 2 playoff games. Denny is deep into the Men’s and Women’s basketball season but I’m so grateful he is able to make the trip to Virginia with me. Life is good and only going to get better. Again lot’s of excitement around the corner.♥
