Wasting my Time

Back in February I was hospitalized for Acute Respiratory Failure from a bad case of the flu. Since that time I’ve had some issues off and on with breathing and have been to a couple of specialists, including a Cardiology appointment that I was supposed to have today. I say supposed to because I ended up leaving the appointment. I was instructed to arrive at 8:40 to check in and my appointment was at 9. I showed up right on time, paid my copay and went to wait to be called to meet with the Doctor. And I waited. And waited. And waited. Finally 55 minutes after my appointment was scheduled to start I went up to check why I was waiting so long. The poor girl behind the counter had a deer in the headlight look about her and informed me that the Dr. wasn’t even in yet.  I felt as if my time was completely wasted.

I was so upset and mad that I was almost in tears. I took 2 hours off of work to go to this appointment and then I come to find out that the Dr. wasn’t there, that they had had a miscommunication. Not only was my time wasted but I lost money as I had to take time off. I’m sure lots of people think just like me and wish that they could just stay at home and read recipes and bake, but like me they need to work. I understand that mistakes happen but I wonder how long it would have been if I hadn’t gone up there to find out what was going on. This was a busy Physicians office and there were lots of people coming and going.

Now I have to wait for them to reschedule me and take more time off of work. Not a lot of fun but I guess that is the breaks. Thanks for listening to me vent. I promise to have more fun stuff to write about tomorrow. Like one of my Grandma’s recipes that I received last week. I had so much fun over the weekend looking through all her recipes and I know I’m just scratching the surface on the cookbooks that I was sent. ♥
